When my baby was born, we have received many gifts from friends and relatives most of which were hampers from two of the well known baby product brands in India. The hampers, along with many other items contained baby massage oil which we used to massage our bundle of joy. Giving a massage and bath were like some important occasions at home. After all, she is our first born. I am sure you would have experienced or would surely guess how much parents worry and spend to give the best of the bests to these little angels. We started with oil from the brand ‘J’ and to our distress our baby got rashes all over her body. It proved to be a wrong choice for my baby. I was all tears. Tender, soft and supple skin was upsetting with tiny red bumps. The first thing anyone visited at that point of time asked was ” Oh! Baby, what happened to her skin?”
I had to stop massaging her body for few weeks and then I used the oil from the other brand ‘H’ which claims to use only natural products and again had to face the same disappointment.
That’s when I have decided to go with our own desi ‘Dabur Lal Tail’. I ordered Dabur Lal tail but it smiled at me with a note ” to be used only for 6 month old babies” on the bottle. I did use the oil for my baby when she turned 6 months and I still do and I am very happy with it.
My hunt for the best oil started again. This time I have decided to use Olive oil on my little ones skin. I mixed Olive oil, Almond oil and Coconut oil and used it till she turned 6 months. Once she turned 6 months we have migrated to Dabur Lal tail. While using this oil, I thought to send a mail to Dabur with a suggestion to introduce something similar for new born babies. Why wait for 6 months to use something natural and effective? Though I couldn’t send any mail, I think Dabur heard it through telepathy :-). I personally believe that natural oils nourish babies’ skin by making bones and muscles strong. it is said that new born babies will have body aches as they can’t move and they have to lie down in the same posture for the whole day. Giving a massage definitely reduces their aches and the goodness in the oil nourishes baby’s skin and helps in giving good sleep and a happy child.
If the oil is of natural ingredients you can rest assured of the health and development of the babies’ skin. I am so happy to know that Dabur’s new product is purely made of two natural oils – Olive oil and Almond oil.
Olive Oil:
Olive oil has got a special mention in the Bible. It was considered as the most purest and precious thing. Priests and Kings were anointed with olive oils. Consecrations still happen with olive oil. In the Bible God ordered Israelites to lit the lamp of tabernacle ONLY with the Olive oil. Such a precious oil is Olive oil.

Almonds too are considered precious in the Bible.

- Almond oil has good moisturizing and healing qualities which can make babies’ skin soft and supple.
- This oil also has proven to be healing several skin ailments like psoriasis and Eczema
- Almonds are a good source antioxidants and vitamins( A , E, B1, B6 and B12)
- Almond oil helps in removing dead cells when massaged and helps in removing tan.
Above are just few of the good things and the list can go on and on.
